Buzzies were designed to interfere with the body's stress response by keeping it from entering the flight, fight, or freeze mode. Many of our users report they experience less pain, are more calm, are able to sleep better, and have improved performance. Buzzies can be used for a short duration to spot treat stress, or they may be left on for longer periods of time to prevent it as well as 15 minutes in the morning and night to help improve sleep.
Buzzies are a general wellness device and do not require FDA approval as they are 100% non-invasive and a lifestyle device.
WHAT IS IN A BUZZIES KIT?
No, no version of watch bands come included in the Buzzies kit. There are clips included that you can use to wear the Buzzies. However, you can purchase a set of our metallic bands in the store or a set of silicone bands at www.BuzziesBands.com. Silicone bands come in small and large sizes to fit all needs.
No, not unless you want to have one set of Buzzies on while you are charging a spare set. Depending on the settings, Buzzies should last several hours on one charge. Some children affected by autism, or people going through an incredibly stressful time in their lives, opt to buy two kits so they can charge one set of Buzzies while they use the other set so there is no interruption. Most users opt to use Buzzies for short periods of time throughout the day so Buzzies last all day for most regular users.
The Buzzies Kit includes two Buzzies, charging cables, clips and couplers to allow you to wear the Buzzies, access to the app available for both ios and Android, and packaging to store your Buzzies.

USING YOUR BUZZIES
Buzzies can be worn using the included clips or the purchased wristbands. They can be clipped to pockets, belt loops, shirt straps, etc. You can also slip them into your pockets, socks, sweatbands, or other secure places. Buzzies do not need to be touching skin in order to work.
There are no known conditions that would render Buzzies ineffective. Buzzies should work on everyone because of how the brain integrates sensory input. If it feels like your Buzzies aren’t producing calm it could be because they are on too slow of a speed setting for a particular person or the overlap period may be too long. Try a faster setting with no overlap if this is a possibility. If someone is panicking or thinking about an extremely stressful event, it may take longer than 30 seconds for the individual to feel the difference. In this case, leave your Buzzies on and then reassess every minute. In a few minutes, there should be a noticeable difference. If an individual has a severe medical or mental health condition or is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, this may interfere with the results. If an individual has a dissociative disorder, autism, or agenesis of the corpus callosum, he or she may not be able to notice the positive changes even if they are occurring.
The Buzzies Challenge is built into the setup of every new Buzzies Kit. After your phone initially pairs with Buzzies, the app will prompt you to follow the steps below:
Think about an upsetting life event that is about a 6 or 7 on a scale of 0 to 10 where 0 is zero feeling or stress about an event and 10 is the most upset you can imagine. Then see if you can feel a body sensation when you think about the upsetting situation and rate how intense that sensation is on a scale of 0 to 10 where 0 is no sensation and 10 is the most intense sensation you can imagine. Notice or write down the numbers you associate with the upsetting life event. Use the app to turn on your Buzzies on the preset “Reduce Stress Now” setting and keep thinking about the upsetting life event. Wait about 30 seconds and then rate how your body sensation changed and how upsetting the situation now feels on the same 0 to 10 scale. If it’s gone, congratulations! If it’s lower, but not gone, keep thinking about the situation until it feels like it’s not upsetting. Then turn your Buzzies off and see how upset you can become about the life situation. Our research shows that in less than 1 minute, at least 60% of the upset resolves and it does not return when the original situation was rated with an intensity of 7 or less. If the intensity is 8 or higher, it may take longer for Buzzies to produce calm, so be patient and allow them to work.
Place one Buzzie on each side of your body and secure them via clips, watch bands, or holding them. For Buzzies to work, one must be on the right side of the body and one must be on the left. Buzzies do not need to be touching the skin. After the Buzzies are in place, turn on the app and follow the instructions. Buzzies can be used for a short duration to spot treat stress, or they may be left on for longer periods of time to prevent it.
USING BUZZIES AS A MEDICAL TREATMENT
Can Buzzies be used with children who have autism but are relatively low functioning?
Yes, Buzzies can be used in this type of situation. In one case a 10 year old boy who functions but at an 18month to 2-year-old level, is nonverbal and also has C.P. and a seizure disorder found some help with Buzzies. Buzzies do have small parts that could cause a choking hazard so please pay extra attention to children. Most parents with children with developmental disabilities also find Buzzies to be helpful for themselves because of the additional stress of parenting so if your child does not end up using them they still might be a good tool for any family.
Can Buzzies treat autism?
Buzzies are not meant to treat autism or any medical condition. Children and adults affected by autism have used Buzzies to help stay calm, prevent stimming and startle response, focus in school, and report improved outcomes. The news reports on autism are based on actual users of Buzzies and we are in the process of conducting double-blind placebo controlled studies in classrooms with children on the spectrum on a larger scale but this research is not yet ready for publication. One in 68 U.S. children is affected by autism (ASD), this is a 30% increase from the 1 in 88 initially established just a few years ago by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. More than 3.5 million Americans live with an autism spectrum disorder. Buzzies are not a substitute but can be used in conjunction with therapy, medications, and other interventions. Our goal is to make Buzzies accessible for everyone.
Do Buzzies work on every condition related to stress and anxiety?
Buzzies have not been tested for every condition. Because Buzzies help alter the stress response, but it is best to consult your doctor first. Dr. Serin tells parents that even if they do not help the child with a specific condition, dealing with certain problems is so stressful for parents, that Buzzies would at least be effective to help them deal with their own stress. We welcome any feedback should you decide to try the product and find success. We are currently doing research with PEARSON and preliminary data shows a decrease in motor hyperactivity but we, unfortunately, cannot say whether that decrease would apply every possible condition.
Are there any issues in using Buzzies for kids with heart-related issues?
We are not aware of any issues concerning children with heart-related symptoms.
